Appleseed Avenue FAQ Title Photo
Puppets and murder? What exactly am I signing up for?
Each Puppet Murder Files game takes place on Appleseed Avenue, an “in-between town” where puppets and humans coexist. You and your team will work as Detectives or Medical Examiners, going through training and eventually solving crimes. If you have to explain it to your friends, say, “CSI meets Sesame Street.”
Is this an escape room?

We consider our games to be more simulation than escape room. Think real-life video game. Rather than merely doing puzzles in a cool setting, the cases will inform what to do next. The more you understand and follow the story, the easier it will be to solve the crimes. So pay attention to the clues!

Is this scary?

Appleseed Avenue isn’t a scary place, but it does have intense moments. Loud sounds, flashing lights, and maybe the occasional aggressive puppet.

Also, the subject matter is adult, and you might encounter puppet gore.

Is this appropriate for kids? Do you have an age limit?

Just in case you have missed the multiple mentions of murder, we will reiterate that here. The content is not suitable for children under 13. Any person 13-17 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Your games have a minimum of four people. Can I do them with less than four?

You cannot play our games with less than four people. This is a hard minimum.

The reason we require four people is because the game is divided into two groups: detectives and medical examiners. Each group will be working on the same cases, but separately. This means if you came with two or three people, you would have someone working alone. This is also why we have a recommended group size of six players.

Your games have a maximum of eight people. Can I play with more than eight?

Our games are designed for a maximum of eight players, with a recommended group size of six players. We do not encourage groups larger than eight, but it is possible.

Please call us if you would like to book a game for more than eight players. We will try our best to accommodate you.

Are your games private?

Yes. You will never play with strangers.

Do you offer discounts? How can I get the best price?

We do not offer discounts.

However, there are two ways to save money when booking your visit to Appleseed Avenue: group size and weekday games. The larger your group, the less expensive it becomes per person. And also, we offer major price differences for the games that take place Monday-Thursday.

When should we arrive? What happens if we are late?

We recommend that you arrive 15 minutes before your booking. This is to ensure you and your group will be ready to travel to the Puppet World.

If you or a member of your group is late, it will unfortunately count against your total time. We cannot start the game unless all players are present.

I need to add/remove a person. How do I do that?

When you book an experience on Appleseed Avenue, you only pay a deposit. This means we don’t finalize payment until after your experience is over. As long as you have a minimum of four people, you can change the number of players as many times as you want. If you have less than four people, you cannot play.

I can't make my booking or need to reschedule. What should I do?

When you book a game with us, you are required to pay a deposit. As long as you contact us at least 24 hours before your booking, we can apply that deposit to a different time.

If you need to cancel or reschedule within 24 hours of your booking, you will lose that deposit.
